Right or wrong?

The definition of right or wrong, of a decision is said to depend on the situations it is taken in or is it just a way to pacify our minds!

The increasing number of abduction, rape, murder cases these days have changed our mindset to a great extent. Unable to judge the righteousness of a person and his character we are ought to respond and act towards the safety of our life in the quickest possible time. In the process of which we many a times take wrong decisions which afterwards stays in our mind as guilt.

Same thing happened with me today when a courier guy asked for a glass of water. Mixture of factors like me being alone at home, the news stories and their deadly endings, his wiered behavior pushed me towards a wrong decision and therefore now a guilt feeling. Its not that i didn't offer him water, i did but, rather than serving him water in a glass i gave him the whole bottle so that the process wont take too long and i would avoid any miss happenings. But, my safety measure actually hurt his ego and he said ' bottle nahi chahiye, glass main nahi pilana tha to pehle hi bol dete' and he went without drinking water.

From the moment he has left, I am feeling bad and irritated with the thought that though, my intention was not wrong but i could not even serve a glass of water to the needy. The daily news stories, serials, miss happenings actually have a very negative effect on our mind. No doubt, they are making us cautious about things in life but, at the same time we sometimes end up taking wrong decisions under their influence!
