Are we safe??

A question which is in the mind of every Delhiite, which has created a sense of fear in every man, making it difficult for us to move out of the house and to breathe an air of safety. Every weekend, we get forwarded messages from our friends, saying that its red alert in Delhi, do not move out in rushy areas, avoid going to cluttered malls, terrors attacks are suspected in these areas. We are asked to take measures, while traveling, talking and are always asked to keep an eye on strange elements and adopt the approach of being observant. We as the citizens of the country are becoming aware and taking steps, which could save us and others! But, are the leaders of the country doing the same?

I am not here referring only to the politicians but I also want to mention all the policemen and the security guards, who have been assigned with the most important task of protecting and safeguarding our country from the unfriendly elements of the society. But what I saw on the sabjimandi railway station few days back is surely an invitation to a major miss happening. There is no proper gate or entry system into the railway station, and plus there was no security guard or policemen standing there for checking. and to bring to your notice, most of the trains heading towards new Delhi railway station crosses this passage, and if does not stop there, the speed of the train surely gets slow. By having no security checks at the railway station, is surely an open invitation to the terrorists to cum and attack us...I was literally shocked by this...and at the end questions r raised on the integrity of the citizens of the country. We still need to learn lessons from what happened at 9/ 11, Mumbai attacks, Delhi bomb blasts, and those endless attacks which has ruined the existence of many families.

I really am in no situation to say anything...but through this blog my aim is to create awareness and obviously spread the message ..that seeing this....I can surely say we are just not safe.... and people please keep your eyes and ear open where ever you go!!!

  1. No We Are not Safe BUT..... There is no perfect level of security that we can achieve in an imperfect world. In our open society there will always be risk. But the more we confront our new reality, the safer we will be.

  5. We are not safe anywhere.. not even being at our own home. . . but ya,, while going out, we should comply with the measures (like avoiding outings during red alerts) taken by authorities to make us conversant with the prevailing terror situation.

Apart from this, its in our own hands that how much safety do we maintain while roaming out.. We should definitely be vigilant and keep an eye over the surroundings like who all are moving around us.

Rest,, jo hona hai wo to hona hi hai. . .

  6. yes soni, being a citizen , we can be aware of our sorroundings and if we see some fishy activity going on ,we should give the iformation to the police.

but most citizens dont wish to get involved into any mess,
so d casual attitude of most of us is: "whatever is happenning let it happen . as its someone else's problem".

what we dont realise is that someday we could also be d victims.

  7. Its true that these days its always a threat to go out... i think the movie 'A Wednesday' is very rightly made by stating that when the police and politicians cannot do anything it is the common man who has to take steps! Not only Delhi but the entire country is facing this threat and once a person is out of house it is not sure whether he/she will ever come back...
i hope this write up of urs is an eye opener for atleast a few people.
